Video Surveillance Offering

One of the most popular search categories on the search engines is “video surveillance”. Both residential customers and business customers are becoming increasingly aware of the need for video surveillance to deter and discourage theft, shoplifting, burglary, etc. One of the stumbling blocks of this has been the historically very high cost of implementing such a system, as well as the huge amount of disk storage space that is typically required to store hours and days worth of video recordings.

What if such a system was available for under $100? What if such a system could be run from the customer’s normal PC? What if such a system could be monitored over the Internet from another location, like from your hotel room’s Internet access in Hawaii? What if the camera required could be a simple “web cam” available very inexpensively at Best Buy or Circuit City? What if, instead of gigabytes of video to wade through, the software was smart to only capture video when there was movement in the surveillance view, which would then of course minimize the amount of disk storage required to store the video surveillance?
