ShopForT1 News & &Updates

Who would be a candidate for a T1 line? In the state of today’s technology, perhaps a better question would be who wouldn’t? With the popularity of having online access becoming almost a necessity these days for businesses, there are likely very few (if any!) businesses that would not benefit from a high-speed circuit.

In short, aT1 line is a high-speed circuit that is typically used for business. It is rarely used for residential customers. A T1 line comes in 3 types:

1. DATA T1 line, where the T1 line is simply used as a big “pipe” to the Internet. This would be similar to the DSL or cable you have at home, but it’s a much larger pipe, allowing MANY people within a company to access the Internet at the same time and providing good performance for all of them.

2. VOICE T1 line, where a single T1 line can have 24 voice channels. The business can make local and long distance calls just as they always have, but typically at much lower costs. For example, a business with 24 phone lines will be paying about $30 per month to the phone company just to have dial tone, not even counting the long distance charges. With 24 phone lines, that is $720 per month just for dial tone! With a local voice T1 lines, those 24 phone lines with dial tone can be implemented for sometimes as low as under $500!

3. INTEGRATED T1 line, where a single T1 line is split up with a certain number of phone lines AND high-speed Internet access.

ShopForT1 is affiliated with more than a dozen of the nation’s top tier and first tier carriers. Based on the volume of business that ShopForT1 provides to these carriers every month, these carriers guarantee that ShopForT1 customers are getting the lowest price that they will offer for a particular circuit. And this guarantee is given in writing!

Video Surveillance Offering

One of the most popular search categories on the search engines is “video surveillance”. Both residential customers and business customers are becoming increasingly aware of the need for video surveillance to deter and discourage theft, shoplifting, burglary, etc. One of the stumbling blocks of this has been the historically very high cost of implementing such a system, as well as the huge amount of disk storage space that is typically required to store hours and days worth of video recordings.

What if such a system was available for under $100? What if such a system could be run from the customer’s normal PC? What if such a system could be monitored over the Internet from another location, like from your hotel room’s Internet access in Hawaii? What if the camera required could be a simple “web cam” available very inexpensively at Best Buy or Circuit City? What if, instead of gigabytes of video to wade through, the software was smart to only capture video when there was movement in the surveillance view, which would then of course minimize the amount of disk storage required to store the video surveillance?
