Canada's major telecom companies must rebate phone customers up to $90 each, while spending hundreds of millions of dollars more to expand broadband service into rural communities, the country's telecom regulator ordered Tuesday.
Phone Customers to Get Refund
The CRTC has ruled that Bell, Telus, and other phone companies will have to pay back about $310 million to urban customers, after overcharging them between 2002-2006. Customers can expect a refund of between $25 and $90.
